There are many ways to use video for your business. Whilst the most common use is to promote your products or services, or a unique offer, here are some other ways to leverage the power of video:
Create unique tenders and proposals for customers
If your business is tendering for a major project or a high paying job, think about how effective it would be to make a presentation on video rather than simply relying on written text. Sending a video (whether it be via DVD or an email link) will not only help you stand out from the crowd, it will also have a larger and more articulate impact than a printed document ever would.
Show at trade fairs and networking events
Trade fairs, exhibitions, and networking events allow you to market your business to other business people and to showcase your business to a specifically targeted audience. If your business is investing in an expo stand, or a trade show or in attending a specific networking event, maximise the promotional opportunity of these occasions with a video that speaks directly to that audience.
Build relationships with suppliers
Successful businesses do not operate as an island, having strong working relationships with suppliers (whether it be a product, financial or service supplier) is an integral part of any business success. Including your video when sending proposals or applications to these groups has numerous benefits, from showing product or service suppliers how much you value them, through to visually showing a bank lender that you’re a viable and well-equipped business.
Increase customer awareness of your business
Including a short video when communicating or delivering product or services to customers gives you the opportunity to introduce the full suite of your offerings to them. This helps them discover more about what you do, potentially leading to more business and a higher customer lifetime value.
Train staff
Training staff can be a time consuming task. It can also be difficult to maintain staff’s attention in a typical ‘classroom’ training session. A training video can break this monotony (especially if they’re viewing their fellow team members in action). It can also be a more scaleable solution than trying to coordinate a training session during business hours. There are many videos you can create such as training your team in specific tasks or jobs, hazard identification and reporting (OHS) through to correct manual techniques to prevent costly injuries.
Staff Induction and Contractor Induction Videos
Induction sessions for new staff or visitors are often mandatory before being allowed on site. A short overview video is helpful to cover this requirement with the added benefit of being used for the same purpose repeatedly with less instructor involvement.
The above list is just a brief overview of the types of videos you can create for your business, therefore the options are only limited by your imagination!
